Grilled Salmon Marinade

We all know that grilled fish is good for you but it doesn’t always taste great.  As such, Grillocracy is turning to Debbie Anderson of the blog Pineapples and Palm Trees for a grilled salmon marinade that she so accurately describes as “…a deliciously refined contemporary to original teriyaki sauce.”  Simply mix up the marinade, let the fish soak in the fridge overnight, then grill it up for a flavor-packed main course that’s as flavorful as it is good for you!

GRILLED SALMON

Ingredients

Salmon (approximately 6 ounces per serving)

1/3 cup soy sauce (I use low sodium)

1/3 cup water

1/2 cup packed brown sugar (If you prefer a saltier taste, reduce to 1/3 cup.)

1/4 cup olive oil

3 garlic cloves (or equivalent garlic powder)

1 bunch scallions (green onions)

1/2 lemon, squeezed

Pinch of black pepper

Directions

Thinly slice the scallions and mince the garlic.  Combine scallions, garlic, lemon, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, olive oil and pepper together in bowl and whisk to combine.

Grilled Salmon Marinade

Place salmon in marinade overnight in the refrigerator. Grill for approximately 15 minutes over medium heat until flaky.
