Breakfast Burger
It's breakfast. It's a burger. It's a breakfast burger from yours truly and sponsored by Omaha Steaks.
BREAKFAST BURGER
Ingredients
4 8oz. Omaha Steaks Private Reserve Angus burger patties
2 tsp. Kosher salt
Ground black pepper
1 can refrigerated homestyle biscuits
4 slices cheddar cheese
8 slices ham
4 eggs, fried sunnyside up
4 tbsp. butter
Additional tools needed
Waffle iron
Instructions
Prepare grill for high heat cooking. As the grill preheats, spray waffle iron with cooking spray and bring it to temperature. Separate biscuit dough in to 8 biscuits and cook each one separately in the waffle iron for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned.
Season both sides of the burger patties liberally with salt and pepper. Make a small indentation in the center of each burger with your thumb (this will ensure that the burger maintains an even thickness and doesn’t plump up in the center while cooking). Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for approximately 4 minutes per side for medium rare (130-135 degrees internal temperature). During the final 2 minutes of grilling, add a slice of cheese to each burger. Remove the burgers from the grill.
To assemble the burgers, spread butter on the biscuit waffles. Place each cheeseburger patty on one biscuit waffle, top with 2 slices of ham, a fried egg, and the second biscuit waffle.
