This past weekend, many of the world's best competition barbecue teams assembled in Lynchburg, TN for the 27th Annual Jack Daniels World Championship Invitational Barbecue contest. As a judge of this year's event, I can attest to the fact that the competition in all four of the main categories -- chicken, pork ribs, pork butt/shoulder, and brisket -- was some of the fiercest in years, but in the end only one team could walk away with top honors.
For the second time in three years, the grand champion title went to a man who has been on a serious roll recently with solid showings at both the American Royal Invitational and the American Royal Open -- Tuffy Stone of Cool Smoke.
