At Grillocracy, we are huge supporters and fans of Operation BBQ Relief, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing compassion, hope and friendship to those whose lives have been affected by disasters across the United States by quickly mobile teams to those areas and providing barbecue meals.
As such, we were pleased to learn that Moore’s Marinades and Sauces (Moore’s) is, for the second time in two years, partnering with Operation BBQ Relief to raise necessary funds for Operation BBQ Relief’s operations and help inform nationwide communities of the impact it has on the lives of those affected by disasters.
In support of the positive work of Operation BBQ Relief, Moore’s has pledged to donate $0.10 for every bottle of marinade or sauce purchased, doubling its 2016 pledge to $20,000 this summer. A list of retailers that carry Moore’s products is available on the Moore’s website.
“We continue to be honored to partner with such an impactful organization as Operation BBQ Relief, which provides vital relief to communities affected by disasters across the country,” said Garland Reich, brand manager at Moore’s. “We encourage people to volunteer their time or provide donations to support this great cause.”
Operation BBQ Relief has provided over one million meals to 21 states across the country, serving nearly 6,000 meals a day. The organization’s funding is raised through fundraisers, online merchandise sales and donations. Volunteers consists of BBQ competitors, enthusiasts and people who want to help others either year-round or during deployments.
“Recently, we deployed in Fayetteville, NC and provided 118,700 meals in eight days to those affected by the flood,” said David Marks, chief operating officer at Operation BBQ Relief. “Our success is due to our selfless volunteers and supporters, and we hope to inspire people across the nation to join us by volunteering or donating to Operation BBQ Relief, ensuring our continued efforts to areas in need.”
Operation BBQ Relief was founded in 2011 and is comprised of a Disaster Response Team of over 4,420 volunteers and competition BBQ teams.
