Ground lamb is the star of this Greek burger with homemade Tzatziki sauce recipe from yours truly and sponsored by Omaha Steaks!
Ingredients
4 5oz. Omaha Steaks lamb burgers* or ground lamb
All purpose Greek seasoning (available in the spice section of most grocery stores)
4oz feta cheese crumbles
Tzatziki sauce (recipe follows)
1 tomato, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
4 hamburger buns, toasted
Instructions
Prepare grill for high heat cooking. Season lamb burgers liberally on both sides with Greek seasoning. Grill burgers for approximately 4 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees for medium.
Remove burgers from the grill. Assemble burgers by placing 1-2 slice of tomato on each bottom bun. Top tomatoes with feta cheese, a lamb burger, sliced onion, tzatziki sauce and top bun. Serve burgers immediately.
Tzatziki Sauce
Ingredients
½ cup plain yogurt
1 small cucumber, seeded and diced
½ tbsp. chopped mint
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp. lemon juice
Salt and ground black pepper
Instructions
Combine yogurt, cucumber, mint, garlic, and lemon juice in a small bowl and stir to combine. Add salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to use.
